Baba Selah Eric Spruiell is a vocalist, musician, actor, writer and social activist. A performer since childhood, he has performed at, among other places; Carnegie Hall, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, Small's Paradise, Sweetwaters, Kenny's Castaways, and the Bitter End.

A lifelong Brooklyn resident, Selah is in love with the heady combustion of bohemian flavor, cultural diversity and historical resonance of the Fort Greene / Clinton Hill area. Fort Greene informs him, hence the name, The Fort Greene Project.

For many years Selah enjoyed the challenges of working with juveniles, and is proud of having worked with some of the toughest in the country. A long time youth advocate, in addition to his extensive musical background, Selah has also been witness to the explosion of Hip Hop culture.

This exposure has afforded him certain street credibility in a positive manner. Politically minded, Selah is a human rights activist. He has promoted tenant equity against a backdrop of encroaching municipal gentrification and resulting displacement, and has had the privilege of organizing his community in the name of social issues. Still, music remains in his bones.

It constructs his dreams. It has become The Project.
